Smart Grid Leadership Conference

Year 2010 has great promise for smart meters and the Smart Grid, making it a propitious time for eMeter to host its first inaugural Smart Grid Leadership Conference (May 3-5, Monterey, California).  The conclave will bring together industry visionaries with smart meter veterans to address some of the most important issues facing utilities and policymakers looking at the Smart Grid.  Guest speakers will represent leading venture capital, strategic consulting, system integration, economics, and even electric vehicle manufacturing firms.

With Smart Grid Investment Grant funds finally flowing, the industry is accelerating rapidly.  The conference will include coverage of specific SGIG projects and the new ground being broken.  Here are some of the other program highlights:

  • The Utility Industry in 2010 and Beyond: What the Future holds – Jesse Berst, Managing Director, Global Smart Energy
  • Smart Grid Innovation: Real Life Use Cases
  • Role of Smart Metering in Retail Market Operations – Bob Frazier, CenterPoint Energy; Uwe Horch, Umetriq (Berlin, Germany)
  • Leveraging the Smart Grid for Demand Response –Control4, Bluebonnet, and Patti Harper-Slaboszewicz, Bass Consulting

Some of the eMeter-led sessions include: demand response workshop; best practices in smart meter installation; deployment, and provisioning; partner roundtable; and consumer engagement best practices.

In sum: a first-class event in the first class setting of Monterey by the sea.  I hope to see you there!
