In the AMI-Enterprise working group of OpenSG, they reference CIM Standard 61968-9 as a recently released draft standard for MDM-to-enterprise applications. CIM defines the XML schema for key business transactions, and that’s what our developers have been using for guidance in our standard interfaces with WS, JMS and file-based XML. So we envision being compliant with relatively little change from our present XSDs.

In our AMI-MDM interfaces, eMeter supports the CIM interfaces, but we envision requiring a vendor-specific adapter for some time.

We also support the Smart Energy Profile (SEP) coming out of the Zigbee Alliance for future HAN device services. This standard will make our job in this area much easier. The OpenSG sub-group OpenHAN has contributed to the SEP which is in second revision process now.
