AMI Adapters
AMI Adapters are two-way interfaces with the AMI data collection systems that sit in between the data collection systems and other applications in EnergyIP. These adapters transform the information data and format coming from the data collection systems to a common format so that EnergyIP applications can interpret and process it.

More technically, the primary function of AMI Adapters is to bring data from an external data collection system via flat files, XML files, or binary files and publish raw meter read data to EnergyIP. The AMI Adapter parses incoming files as needed before publishing raw messages to the bus. EnergyIP can also communicate back to the meter through the AMI Adapters. This enables capabilities such as on-demand readings, outage notifications, provisioning, and connect/disconnects.
eMeter works with the full range of smart meter communications network companies, whose various technologies, including broadband-over-powerline (BPL), cellular, and radio, move data back and forth between smart meters and EnergyIP.
EnergyIP currently supports specific adapters for the following AMI vendors. We also have a Universal AMI Adapter which enables integration with other meters and AMI systems.
