eMeter’s Advanced Applications extend the core functions of EnergyIP to provide capability for:
Utilities can invest in the capability they require for initial deployment, and incrementally add modules as needed.
Deployment Planning and Management (DPM) supports the numerous functions associated with deployment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) at any scale. With DPM you can generate detailed plans for meter installations, network surveys, and network equipment installations. DPM integrates with EnergyIP’s Meter Data Management system (MDM) to drive utility IT systems- automating logistics to support all facets of smart meter implementation. In addition, DPM works with EnergyIP’s Real-time Provisioning capabilities to deliver end-to-end automation and control of smart meter rollout from planning and procurement through provisioning and billing cutover.
Smart Grid Device Lifecycle Management tracks status, configuration and service history for Smart Grid devices, AMI, and communication equipment through their product lifecycle at the utility, beginning with installation and concluding with retirement. Lifecycle Management identifies diagnostic flags and generates reports linking devices with diagnostics. Service requests can be automatically generated and tracked according to configurable rules. New configuration status and service history can be updated and tracked after service is completed.
Outage Notification and Response integrates AMI, Call Center and utility Outage Management Systems to provide enhanced, end-to-end management of outage, response and restoration events. Power status requests can be performed for single devices or groups of meters, transformers or other service points in the network. Status responses are processed according to configurable rules and routed to the appropriate OMS Call Center or IVR system. Events can be filtered or prioritized to eliminate response to spurious events and avoid service logistics overload during extreme weather events.
Real-time Validation, Estimation and Editing (VEE) performs continuous interval data validation and estimation according to configurable rules, and makes data immediately available for any use. The VEE Module also allows graphical editing of metered data. Any exceptions that cannot be handled automatically, or that you specify, are flagged for manual intervention, and a service request is generated and routed to ensure review, edit or action. This gives you complete control and immediate notification of problems in the AMI network. VEE ensures you have the most current, accurate information for billing, customer service and just-in-time operations.
