Wide Area Network Communications Management
The Wide Area Network (WAN) Communications Management module tracks the communication service attached to each utility delivery point. The module retrieves communication performance and schedule information from AMI servers and provides reconciliation reports that identify each communication network address, its activation state, and communication statistics, enabling WAN service bill reconciliation. In addition, EnergyIP™ operates in conjunction with Installation Management and Field Service to ensure that network equipment modems are provisioned with the WAN provider prior to installation and are deactivated as soon as the equipment is removed or decommissioned. This ensures that the utility does not incur unnecessary WAN charges as devices are replaced, relocated, upgraded, or reconfigured.
