Daily Estimation and Billing Read Optimizer
The Daily Estimation and Billing Read Optimizer generates daily usage estimates for accounts with missing reads, uses configurable business rules to determine when an estimate should be used for billing, automatically updates estimates with actual data when available, and optimizes actual and estimated reads within the billing window to minimize manual reading.
The module validates meter readings—identifying errors or gaps—and fills in gaps according to utility-defined business rules. If an estimated read is used for billing, EnergyIP™ “locks” this estimate and will not over-write it with a later read. Again using business rules, EnergyIP automates the process of determining the most accurate and up-to-date data for billing. When estimated data is not sufficient, the module can dispatch a manual read with sufficient time to use it.
