Connect/Disconnect Automation

The Connect/Disconnect Automation module automates the service connect/disconnect (C/DC) process. Through the customer information system (CIS) interface adapter, the module receives notice of a service disconnection and determines whether a hard or soft disconnect is required.

For a soft disconnect, EnergyIP™ identifies any inactive service point where metered usage exceeds a preconfigured threshold. EnergyIP generates daily event reports and can automatically generate a field meter investigation request or trigger a customer service activity such as a phone call or mailing to the premise.

If a hard disconnect is required, EnergyIP determines if the premise equipment supports remote disconnect and which communications system is in use. It then sends the appropriate disconnect order to the AMI data collection system. If remote disconnect is not supported, EnergyIP initiates a field order to the utility work management system.

When EnergyIP receives a service connection notice, it assesses the status of the service point and removes any soft disconnect thresholds, initiates a remote connect, or a field connection order.
