Data Collection Adapters
EnergyIP™ data collection adapters are two-way smart interfaces with AMI data collection systems that support provisioning of AMI meters and network devices, retrieval of meter readings and event data, on-request data retrieval, power status queries, and communication of command and control messages to end-point devices.
They receive interval, daily, and billing read files, including daily diagnostics flags and event logs. If enabled by the data collection system, EnergyIP can receive streaming meter reads, which allow reads to be processed immediately—eliminating manual read requests, and delays in billing and data analysis.
EnergyIP adapters also support priority processing of real-time control or event data such as outage and restoration events. Each AMI supplier provides its own interface and EnergyIP is configured during integration to handle these differences.
EnergyIP supports a streaming XML interface that is highly effective for real-time outage and restoration events. Its data collection adapters accommodate radio frequency AMI, power line carrier, drive-by, hand-held, telephone, and other systems.
Only one adapter license is required for each data collection technology. Using the platform’s distributed processing architecture, multiple instances of an adapter can operate on one or more servers to provide sufficient processing capacity.
