Interface Adapters
EnergyIP™ smart interface adapters link C&I data collection with eMeter data management and storage, and with the utility’s advanced C&I billing and other enterprise applications. Adapters allow regular scanning of enterprise application database tables or file directories for updated information and can accept either real-time or batch data transmission.
The EnergyIP C&I data collection interface adapter is a two-way interface with EnergyIP’s C&I data collection module. It supports retrieval of meter readings and event data, on-request data retrieval, power status queries, and communication of command and control messages to end-point devices.
Energy IP supports a streaming XML interface that is highly effective for real-time data submission and processing. It enables:
- Automatic dialing and re-scheduling of protocols for settlement meters
- Validation and data editing functions
- Estimation
- Data aggregation, virtual meters and reporting
- Searching and fault reporting
- Exception and custom reporting
Only one adapter license is required for each data collection technology. Using the platform’s distributed processing architecture, multiple instances of an adapter can operate on one or more servers to provide sufficient processing capacity.
