Press Releases
TXU Electric Delivery (TXU ED) Company of Dallas, Texas, purchased the Power Information Platform by eMeter (PIPe) software and engaged eMeter to install and integrate the PIPe at TXU ED
TXU ED will use the PIPe™ software as the foundation for building its advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), which it plans to deploy to its nearly three million electric delivery customers. The PIPe, which is built on a message-based, service-oriented architecture with open standards in mind, includes an energy usage data repository, AMI systems management applications, meter data management applications, and integration with TXU ED's core utility business systems. TXU ED will use the PIPe's automated processes and applications for installation, operation, and maintenance of its AMI. At the outset, the PIPe will support the meter read to bill cycle for all three million TXU ED delivery customers and integrate with all five sources of meter data including TWACS, MV-90, hand-held readers and others. Data will be consolidated in the PIPe, validated for integrity and accuracy, and tied to TXU ED's billing and service order management applications, CIS and, in the future, other information systems.
