The European member states have opened their electricity and gas markets to competition and should be well on their way to meeting the May 2008 target to implement new energy end-use efficiency measures.
Metering, billing and CRM will all be impacted upon by these initiatives. The deployment of smart metering, mandated in the Energy Services Directive, will enable smart grids and smart homes, which will revolutionise the management of energy from its point of generation to the point of consumption.
Against this background, the Metering, Billing/CRM Europe 2008 conference and exhibition will provide the forum to review the latest policy, regulatory and technological developments, which are shaping the utility of the future and changing the face of metering, billing and customer management across Europe.
John. O Wambaugh is presenting Session 10 – From Metering to Energy Data Management on Tuesday, September 23rd.
