eMeter has been selected to provide its EnergyIP software for use in managing data and operations of Alliant Energy's (NYSE: LNT) Advanced Metering Infrastructure project. Alliant plans to deploy meters to 1.1 million electric customers and 400 thousand natural gas customers by 2011. EnergyIP will be integrated into multiple legacy systems including Interstate Power and Light (IPL) and Wisconsin Power and Light (WPL), which include two separate CIS systems. In addition to the traditional functions of Validation, Editing, and Estimation (VEE), EnergyIP will be implemented to support and automate the key business processes associated with AMI deployment and activation, service order and exception management, asset management, outage management and customer data presentment.
