The EnBW holding is the 4th largest energy supplier and distribution network operator in Germany. The EnBW ODR owns more than 250.000 meter points and serves electricity, gas and water meters. EnBW ODR defines itself as the innovation centre within the holding and has started a comprehensive smart metering project consisting of Siemens AMIS PLC technology and EnergyIP as MDM.
The MDM project is part of the overall smart metering initiative at EnBW ODR and has two main targets: The integration of the MDM into the existing ENBW ODR IT environment with interfaces to SAP IS-U (via the SAP certified MDUS interface) and a workforce management solution to provide a meter-to-bill solution. In a second step EnBW ODR wants to act as a competitive metering service provider in the de-regulated German metering market. EnergyIP will be linked to a market gateway and provide metering data to the EnBW ODR external customers.
